Annexation and Boundary Change Process

This page outlines the procedures for requesting annexation or modifying the boundaries of the Duncan Valley Rural Fire District, in accordance with Title 48 of the Arizona Revised Statutes. The process includes the following steps:
1. Begin by submitting a boundary impact statement to our governing board.
2. A public hearing will be convened by our governing body.
3. Notifications will be sent to property owners in the affected area via mail and public postings.
4. The Board of Supervisors will assess the boundary impact statement.
5. A hearing will be scheduled to evaluate petitions for boundary modifications, with the Clerk determining necessary property owner signatures.
6. If approved, petitioners will have one year to gather the required signatures and submit them.
7. Upon receipt of the petitions, a follow-up hearing will be organized within a designated timeframe.
8. The petitions will then be sent to the Board of Supervisors for review.
9. If all legal requirements are met, the governing body will sanction the boundary modification in a subsequent meeting.
10. The final order will be documented, and relevant state and federal agencies will be notified.

For additional information or inquiries regarding boundary modifications, please reach out to the Duncan Valley Rural Fire District.
